SONY NW-E507
Month long Battery Life Charges while transferring music, 3min charge equals 3hr playback
Organic LED Dissappears behind the shell when the device is asleep. Customizable sleep animations
FM Radio Holding the display button switches to FM mode, and the jog dial becomes a tuner
Controllable one-handed even without sight Most ergonomic design for a portable I've ever felt
Hold Knob / Jog Dial Rotate to change songs. Push out and rotate to change folder. Pull "shut" to disable accidental pressing for all buttons
1GB solid state memory
Equalizer Rear button switches between custom EQ settings, holding it switches between shuffle modes
MDR-X10 50mm Drivers. X-Factor collab headphones for some reason. The memory foam seals suprisingly well even with glasses on
MDR-XB610 40mm Drivers. They're a lot like the X10s but the orange/silver matches my shoes. Japanese exclusive color
SRF-HM03V FM/AM/TV/Weather radio headphones. Not the best reception since the antennae is in the band, but they're just so slick to wear
Nike Duro OEM by Philips. No padding but they rotate with springs to sit flat. Band goes around the back of your head
AKAI AA-A35 Onkyo PL-25F Both examples of really gimmicky '80s stereo equipment. The turntable has a linear tracking arm, and full digital controls which allow an instant pause button. The stereo has a capacitive volume strip, instead of a volume knob. You can slide your finger across it to change the volume, or simply poke at the value you want
Kasino Kustom Fixer-upper from marketplace. '80s(?) Needed new strings but lowkey the whole thing is in a bit of rough shape. BUT, it works. It does indeed do the job

For playing music on my desktop I mainly use WACUP, though I have more information on other music playing programs available. There's plenty of cool visualization options and skins available too
For purchasing music I only ever really use bandcamp, as every other streaming service seems to fuck over the artist completely. If that isn't an option, yt-dlp does a pretty good job at downloading nearly anything

Sony NW-A1000 The direct iPod compeditor from sony. It's packed with really novel features and striking styling but the actually usability falls a bit short. Still a really important part of the walkman lineage reguardless
Avegant Glyph Weird "personal theatre" headset thing with micromirror arrays. It's not VR but it still has motion controls for mouse movement. Not sure who they thought would buy this but I've found a lot of oddly specific uses, like reading guitar tabs while playing or reading recipes while cooking
Winter Headphones Shell is a set of MDR-CD180s. Drivers are out of a broken pair of MDR-XB950BTs I scored for $10. Fluff is from regular ear warmers. The stock cable from the 180s is really long and made of a material that doesn't freeze. Overall they make for a nice set to walk in around when snow is falling
Creative Zen Micro Creative made a lot of mp3 players but this is probably close to their best. The iPod has a touch wheel while this has a touch slider. It's actually remarkably well designed from a usability standpoint, and the colors it comes in are cool, but the software I need to transfer to it only works on XP. I also have their Zen Stone, which is a much smaller player
iPod Nano 5g Sadly broke during the battery replacement. I'm not even sure how but I think something in the 30-pin disconnected as it would lose a channel unless you pressed on the chassis. swagever. iPods are very nice feeling objects and very novel though, despite the way they're constructed
